Have you been working out for a while and not seeing any change? Pounding the streets in the morning and then another workout in the evening, eating ‘healthy’, working out 7 days a week and being really ‘good’! Well here’s where you MAY be going wrong.
You’re descending into a spiral of self-loathing and failure talk. Feeling positive and good within has a massive effect on your overall success in all aspects of your life!
You’re exercising too much. Overdoing it puts great stress on the body and can put a damper on your goals. Make sure you have ample rest time across a 24-hour period to allow things to settle.
You’re not eating enough/ Poor Nutrition. Particularly when combined with over-exercising, depriving your body of the food it needs to survive is a recipe for weight loss/health goals sabotage. Like overdoing it on cardio and then not eating enough causes the body to go into stressed-out mode.
You are looking for a quick fix. Ever give up after 2 weeks of seeing no change? Enjoy where you're at now while you're working hard at improving your health. Make a lifestyle change rather than focusing on a quick fix.
You’re not sleeping enough! Getting 6-9 hours of quality rest each night helps the body reset, regulates blood sugar, allows for complete digestion and can balance hormones like leptin and ghrelin that help us identify when we’re full or hungry. Prioritize sleep.
Do you have a strong ‘WHY?’ for your intentions. Find the deep, personal reason underlying your desire to change your body. Chances are, dropping some pounds is actually about more than just the scale.
You’re not upping your weights or switching your workouts. You’ve got to get out of your comfort zone!! Your body gets used to doing the same workouts week after week. Your body and mind need change. Don’t be afraid to go heavy!
